Ace Cafe London Figaro Meet – Saturday 22nd July 2023
Words and Pictures: South East England Chapter Coordinator Alysha Gellett
Since 2017, I had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to plan and attend an Ace Cafe meeting with my beloved Figaro. Finally, the day arrived, and attending with my own Figaro was a dream come true. However, luck was not on our side as the weather took a turn for the worse. Thankfully, we were able to take refuge in the cosy cafe, sipping on hot cups of tea. Determined to make the most of the situation, we came up with the idea to park our cars in colour order, creating a visually stunning display. The resulting pictures were incredibly satisfying, and everyone present shared our enthusiasm for the idea. Despite the weather dampening our original plans, the camaraderie and creativity of the Figaro community made the day unforgettable.
Despite facing a significant number of cancellations leading up to the event, we were not deterred as we were well aware that this was a common occurrence. However, on the day itself, we were faced with approximately 13 no-shows, a phenomenon largely attributed to unfavourable weather conditions. Nevertheless, this did not have a substantial impact on the overall turnout of the event, and the cars that did make it looked absolutely stunning as they lined up, showcasing the passion and dedication of their owners.
We received no end of great feedback from everyone, and it’s made us feel incredibly loved and supported.
