Bangers and Cash restore a Nissan Figaro and interview Club Member
Broadcast on Thursday the 12th of December 2024 the popular TV show Bangers and Cash RESTORING CLASSICS takes on a Nissan Figaro and tries to turn a profit. We have edited the show down to just 22 minutes (the sound isn’t great) and removed all adverts and non-Figaro-related articles. The show is an interesting watch as they purchased a Lapis Grey example for £8,284 and went about improving the car after which it went to auction. You must watch the show to see if they make any money.
MEMBER INTERVIEW
The show includes an interview with Yorkshire-based club member Mia Braine (at 7.30 minutes in). Mia saw the car whilst out for a walk and fell in love. “it brings joy wherever it goes. you feel regal” and lots more compliments.
GOOD CONTENT
The content is worth a watch as they try to change the cambelt which includes some ‘dumped’ expletives!!! The brakes are also repaired along with comments about the ‘teddy bear’ cut out, watch out for that one. The roof and some corner bumpers are also replaced. The cost of replacing the 4 heater knobs was £200, which they could have done cheaper. Lastly, the car was machine-polished which is a testament to the paint applied and the seats thoroughly cleaned. The total cost of parts came to £2,610. The labour worked out at £1,746 so the total cost was £12,640, did that achieve this at auction? Well, you will have to watch to find out.
TEST DRIVE
If you are an owner, you will enjoy the test drive which is accompanied by a very annoying intermittent buzzing, which many of you will know would have been the roof.
NEW OWNER
The car was sold to Hull-based Nicola who bought it as a second car.
BANGERS & CASH LIVE – SUNDAY 11th AUGUST 2024
Many of our members attended the show back in the summer. What an incredibly fun day we had in North Yorkshire on Sunday the 11th of August. The sun was blazing, the cars were shiny and the roads leading to the event were gridlocked as the public made their way to Scampston Hall. By the afternoon, the field was teeming with car enthusiasts who came to admire, talk, eat, and watch the Mathewson family doing what they do best – talk about cars and auction off unusual and rare vehicles.
