Door – Nissan Figaro Lock Repair Video
This video covers in detail how the door opening, closing and locking mechanism works within the door. If you are having problems entering the car then it’s well worth a watch. Also, we strongly recommend spending a minute checking the movement of the trigger lever and if it is a little stiff you need to lubricate it to ensure you do not get locked out of your car in the future.
If you have shut the door and locked the car but then you cannot open it, this is usually due to the trigger lever within the handle becoming stuck inside the handle. This can happen over time as dirt enters the space between the trigger lever and handle. In addition, the returning spring mechanism which pulls the lever back can become rusted and will not work correctly. Kevin shows you how to release the trigger lever by applying oil and ‘working’ the lever until it springs back to its correct position. Once it has sprung back to this position you can open the door.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR LOCKS
It is worth checking that the trigger levers on both handles are moving well. We recommend opening the door, removing the access grommet and with a torch trying to spray oil onto the inside of the lock mechanism whilst pressing the trigger lever.
