We are delighted to offer this event, which is being organised by South West Chapter Coordinator Kitty and Andrew Muffett. After seeing some wonderful pictures posted by one of our members, Pete Berry, on our FB page, we thought a little trip along the Jurassic Coast would be just what we would all love. We intend to drive along part of the Jurassic coast, stopping en route to take in the views and for us to have a group picnic “Far from the Maddening Crowds”! at the Hardy Memorial, OK wrong Hardy, but the right area, this memorial is for Vice Admiral Hardy, the recipient of Nelson’s famous dying words, “Kiss me, Hardy”.

The drive is a circular route with us stopping for a picnic lunch en route and then later stopping again at a National Trust Garden Cafe for coffee at some point – we haven’t finalised the whole route yet, but it will be approximately a 45-mile round trip. Driving time with no stops will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once we stop for photo, picnic, short walk around a lake and coffee I suspect the trip will be about 4 – 5 hours long.

Once I have a full itinerary, I will let you know, and we can always put out another “call to arms” – hoping this one will be popular, as after doing my heat map, we have quite a few members in the Dorset area. With the much-appreciated help from Pete.
