Figgys Visit London
Words and Picture: Adam Woods
Ahead of attending Ace Cafe later in the day, we, and a few of our Figgy friends, thought it would be fun to drive through the centre of London!
While I know London fairly well, my knowledge is probably more based on using the Underground, as I had never driven through the Capital before! We were also concerned that we could lose each other so we kept to a group of three cars for our first London run! Fortunately, we had JJ to hand, who kindly devised a fantastic route that would allow us to snap some Figgy photos in amazing locations along the way!
We originally planned on starting at the Millennium Dome, but when we realised that we wouldn’t be allowed to get the Figs on the roof, we decided against that! Our route took us across London across Tower Bridge, from where we stopped briefly outside Cahoots Underground, and on to Borough Market, where we certainly felt the love as we beeped and waved.
Travelling through to Central London in a Fig now comes at a cost of £30 per day – a daily cost that the majority struggle to afford – we certainly couldn’t. With 20 mph speed limits you don’t get anywhere quickly, but as a day out, and an experience shared with Figgy friends, this was a great experience and one we would certainly do again in the Summer.
After a delicious bite to eat at Maria’s we set off again, through St Paul’s, past Downing Street, on through Westminster and to Buckingham Palace where we managed to get some great snaps of the Figs!
From here we drove through Knightsbridge and snapped some other cars in stunning colours, and concluded our journey at the Serpentine Lido… before heading on to Ace Cafe.
We hope you enjoy our photos and video of our day.
