VIN – How to find your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
Every car receives a unique code called a ‘Vehicle Identification Number’ when it’s manufactured. This serves as a car’s distinctive identifier or fingerprint. Nissan created a 10-digit code back in 1991 which starts with FK10-0XXXXX. The number appears twice on the car and once in your Log Book (V5C UK). When buying the car, take the log book to the car and make sure all three numbers are the same. The engraving on the bulkhead is carried out to stop someone from simply swapping the plate!
Below we show you where to find it and other information regarding the car’s colour and production number.
If buying, always check the Number is the same on both the plate, the bulkhead and V5C form (UK). Also make sure the colour matches the VIN Plate.
