Nissan Figaro Official Press Release

On the 14th February 1991 NISSAN NEWS (which was the official media channel of Nissan Motor Co Ltd) published a 5 page press release telling the world about the Figaro. If you read the release it contains some real gems such as; “Nissan has given the Figaro a unique design that conveys a sense of spiritual satisfaction and a full complement of equipment and appointments intended to satisfy a zestful desire for a good time”.  On the technical side the release talks about the advantages of using “plastic ‘Flex Panels’ made of a modified polyamide-polyphenylene oxide” (PPO) alloy resin for the front wing. It goes on to mention that “meticulous care has been taken to create an interior design that overflows with originality” within the cabin.

The content of the release was a flavour of what was to come and must have excited many future owners.
