How to calculate labour costs?
You need to ask the garage for their workshop hourly rate. As an example is this was £42 per hour, then the labour cost of replacing front brake pads would be 0.70 x £42 = £29.40. This may be plus VAT.

Assumptions
The standard hours quoted, assume that the work is carried out in a fully equipped workshop and that any special tools are readily available. Labour times should be adjusted for conditions that may extend the job e.g. excessive corrosion, damaged bolts, stripped threads etc – your garage should advise you on this.
